Donabe Information:
Donabe's are cooking pots that can be used on the stove top (both electric, gas and portable),
in the oven and or in the microwave (if it fits!).  These pots are nicely decorated so they can 
go directly from the stove top straight to the dining room table.  But whatever you are cooking, 
it MUST BE soup-based (liquids in it at all times!).  

A common question we get-
"If I use it on the stove top, wouldn't the bottom get all charred and dirty?"
Answer: Yes, only the bottom portion, but that is what gives the Donabe Pot it's "character".  
The more "used" it looks, the better food looks!

Iga-Yaki:
This donabe is an Iga-Yaki Pot, which is one of the most highly respected traditional Japanese pottery.  Each donabe is carefully made and it can take almost 2 weeks for each pot to be made!  The bottom of the Iga-Yaki Pots are about one and a half times thicker than the regular donabe that you might be used to seeing.
